Roles Available
Character Relationship Description Clare Daughter of Ortolana Oldest daughter of Ortolana. A girl who has everything and is willing to give it up to live a Christ- like life devoted to helping those in need. Peppa Maid Servant Older maid servant to Clare. Alma Maid Servant Younger maid servant to Beatrice Beatrice Younger sister to Clare, Ortlana's daughter Clare's supportive younger sister. Precocious, Full of curiosity and enthusiasm for life. She longs for love and a marriage match. Beggar Beggar Emblematic of the down and out. He is every man. Every woman. Begging for alms. A war veteran. Francis Son of wealthy family A young man, heir to a prosperous silk merchant, whose privileged upbringing has been marked by indulgence and extravagance. Now confronted by the stark disparities of his world, he is determined to abandon his wealth and status, seeking redemption and meaning by dedicating himself to what truly matters. Ortolana Mother of Clare and Beatrice Mother of Clare and Beatrice. A woman of noble birth, devoted to Christ and has made pilgrimages to the Holy Land. Servant Woman Servant Woman Older Maid Servant to Ortolana The Poor Embodies a timeless struggle, mirroring the hardships faced by the impoverished today revealing a haunting similarity to those living in poverty throughout history. -

Audition Requirements
Prepare one 60-second (or less) comedic or dramatic monologue from a contemporary playwright.
Callbacks will consist of cold reads from the script.

Rehearsal and Performance Dates
Rehearsals are weekday evenings Dec. 1-8, 2025 and Jan.12-Feb. 12, 2026.
Performances are Feb. 13-15, 20-22, 2026.
